Cannot connect iBlue 747A

Bild von cd34rs

I have tried several times after following the instructions on this website but I cannot get the iBlue 747A drivers to install on my Windows 7 64-bit PC. Can anyone explain to me in the most simple terms how I can get my PC to recognise the device so that I can begin to use BT747 to download from the device?

THANK YOU! :D

Hi You first need to install

Hi

You first need to install the system drivers:

http://www.transystem.com.tw/product/78/USB_Driver_V1.1.zip

Then you should be able to use BT747.

Using the 'webstarts' (http://soft.bt747.org ), about any version should work.  If you got the 'zip' file, try 'BT747.exe' and 'BT747_64b.exe' - if you installed the 32 bit version of Java, the first executeable will work, if not the second one.

If you do not succeed, tell us what you are doing (what you think should work) so that we can guide where needed.

I have installed the Windows

I have installed the Windows 7 system drivers from your first link and then installed the Desktop Version from the second link. That loads up the BT747 software. I then connected the device via USB and Windows 7 told me it had succesfully installed the driver software. I load up BT747 and select "USB" and "115200" yet the Download button does nothing! If I select COM3 (the port that Devices and Printers tell me it is connected to), the Download link still does nothing.

Furthermore, there is no visible device when I go to My Computer. It is visible in Devices and Printers however.

Hi

Devices can be seen in the 'Device manager' that you can open by executing 'mmc devmgmt.msc'

Under 'Ports (COM and LPT)' you should see a serial port appear and disappear as you add and remove the device.  If that does not happen, BT747 will not be able to do the job.

Sometimes the bad driver gets attached to a peripheral - find non working peripherals and com ports that you think correspond to the gps logger in the 'Device Manager' and delete them.  On the next insertion, the system will look for the driver again.

I have Win7 64 bit machines and BT747 works on both of them using these drivers - BT747 works both in 64bit java and 32bit java.  So there is no reason that it should not be possible to make it work for you.

It looks like our posts

It looks like our posts crossed - good that it worked for you ;-).

Hi, thanks to cd34rs for the

Hi,

thanks to cd34rs for the brilliant description of my problem. Unfortunately I am still waiting for Boom - so far there is not a trace of connection.

I checked the device manager, there is COM1, an Microsoft driver from 2006, and nothing else. When I plug and unplug the 747APro, just nothing happens. I installted the latest diver already a couple of time :(

Any ideaa what to try next? Please ???

regards, Alison

In the device manager, do you

In the device manager, do you see somethin under 'other peripherals' [or similar label - my system is in French]?

Also activate the display of 'hidden peripherals' in the Display or View menu.

Try to plug in your device in another port & see what happens.

Make sure that your cable is ok (you may have one of these rare faulty cables).

Cool thanks for the fast

Cool thanks for the fast answers! Let's see:

"do you see somethin under 'other peripherals" My Windows in German ;) but I don't see anything else that could be the logger

"Also activate the display of 'hidden peripherals' " Never hear of this before, tried it and a lot of new stuff appeared. But still no change when I plug and unplug the logger.

"Make sure that your cable is ok" I already tried two different cables, from one I know that it is working with an MP3 Player

"Try to plug in your device in another port" I already tried different ports, but not those on the rear. Will test now ... no change. I re-install the driver, while the logger is connected to the port on the back of the PC ... stil no reaction :(

Wait ... that cann't be true

Wait ... that cann't be true

Oh no, it is. I just did not

Oh no, it is. I just did not turn the logger on. I am so used to USB Sticks and memory cards that this did not came to my mind. Boy I am happy that I did not use my real name here

Thanks a lot !!!

I am having this same problem

I am having this same problem again...

I have just returned to trying to use the data logger and BT747 won't detect it and the device is not visible on Devices & Printers. What on earth has happened?
