5hz refresh

Just wanted to confirm that on a I-blue 747 I should be able to set the unit to 5hz by setting the refresh to fix every 200ms and time every 0.2 sec? or is it every 2sec? My unit was not the factory 5hz one.

also, after I press the set

also, after I press the set radio button, how do I know if the task was completed?

5Hz

1. To set to 5Hz, you need to set the fix period to 0.2s. This is valid untill the device looses power (battery empty or removed).
2. I agree that there is no immediate visual feedback of success. I am not sure how to do this, maybe change the background of a setting if it was changed. To be sure you could disconnect and reconnect. In that case all values are refetched. When setting the individual value, an update is requested from the device too - so you would see a failure.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Thanks for the quick replies. By the way, I just wanted to thank you for the great piece of software you wrote, it blows away the original program and works more reliably. now I just have add the resistor to the board so I can do data over bluetooth and I'll be set. Know where I can get one of those little square board resistors in the right resistance?

Resistor

You can also use a physically big resitor as long as it has the right value. This is what is shown in the snapshots I've seen and it is what I did. I have a small stock of resistors though because I've done electronics at home in the past (I now just use them occasionnally).

You should be able to get it in an electronics shop and even online (I've used Conrad for some components). You could also open some electronic device you're throwing away and recover one from there. As long as the value is not too far of 1kOhm it should be ok. 820 or 1.2k should do fine.

Do not try to place the resistor in the spot where it is missing (if you have a big one) - you risk to break the device. The best strategy is to connect in the via's that are located elsewhere on the board as shown on the pictures that you can find. While doing that you need to be carefull about electrically 'isolating' your resistor from the rest of the board.
