GPS Data Logger Software - BT747

BT747 corrects the altitude/height logged by the logger to an altitude with as reference the mean sea level. Stefano complained that this correction was not precise enough. The error can indeed go up to more than 40 meters in some locations. That is because the 1.X versions use values at the crossing of a 10°x10° grid fitting of the world. Following our fruitfull discussions, Stefano extracted the 1°x1° grid data. The differences with the 10°x10° model is shown in the picture.

I've reviewed the TODO list removing some things that have been done, like improving the load time for the thumbnails and added some others.

I seriously lack time to do all of this, espescially after creating my company.  I do make some improvements here and there, and I continue to fix bugs.

PROBLEMS

In the 'webinstall' version of BT747 the mapping code was updated and allows scrolling through the map using the arrow keys.

Using either CTRL or SHIFT while scrolling will make scrolling go faster and pressing both even faster.

The plus (+) and minus (-) keys can be used to zoom in or out.

BT747 "Desktop" can geotag your JPG pictures and show your track on a map without needing to open another application.

To GeoTag: drag and drop your files to BT747. Then on the 'Files to Tag' tab, do 'Tag from File' and to write back the information to JPG files, do 'Save Tagged Files'. You can adjust the time offset vs. UTC using the 'Time Zone' setting on the same tab.

The interface for this will be improved over time. The tagging works for me and it is what I use.

You can also drag and drop already tagged pictures and see their positions on the map.

BT747 (development version) now integrates a map interface. It can show tracks and waypoints.
This will currently help you to finetune the filtering or simply to get a rough idea of the tracks that you logged.
