BT747 on OSX Mountain Lion / Intel i7 x64 /MBP half 2012

Hello,

i have tried several guides and tries but i was not able to use BT747 sw to connect to my iBlue 747 (Transystem) .
Simply it won't connect either via bluetooth or usb (with the SiLab VCP driver)

I had luck with GpsBabel instead, a self and more friendly .dmg installation pkg,
it connects, and downloads/clear the log, but it hasn't any of the dashboard features BT747 has so it's a pity you cannot provide an osx dmg ad well or a working x64 version.  Hope to be able to use bt747 on mac osx in the near future.

Best Regards, Alfredo

Howto: Qstarz BT-Q1000XT on OS X Mountain Lion (10.8)

After some struggles I've gotten my Qstarz BT-Q1000X working on OS X Mountain Lion over USB. Here's what I did:

1) Install the CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers from

https://www.silabs.com/Support%20Documents/Software/Mac_OSX_VCP_Driver.zip

2) Reboot

3) Using Safari, install the latest desktop development version of BT747

Crash on Mac OS X Tiger (10.4): "Symbol not found: _open$UNIX2003"

Since the latest update (september 2009), when pressing 'Connect' the app crashes. Happens with every port I choose. Could this be OS X version 4 specific?

Adding POSSIBLE_PORTS (Blumax GPS-4043, OSX, Bluetooth)

I am trying to connect a Blumax GPS-4043 to my MacBook using Bluetooth in order to download tracks.

I have managed to get this to work using BT747 but only under the old interface. I did this my editing the bt747_macosX.command file, adding the following lines:

POSSIBLE_PORTS="$POSSIBLE_PORTS /dev/tty.BlumaxBT-GPS-SPPSlave-1"

java -Djava.library.path=${ROOT_DIR}/rxtx/ -Dbt747_port="/dev/tty.BlumaxBT-GPS-SPPSlave-1" waba.applet.Applet /w 250 /h 250 /scale 1 /bpp 8 BT747

I have also added the /var/lock file with the following two commands:
sudo mkdir /var/lock

BT-Q1300 nano on mac os x ?

Has anyone had any luck getting a qstarz bt-q1300 nano working on os x?

I tried both bluetooth and usb but do not get a connection. I do get a connection using '/dev/tty.Bluetooth-PDA-Sync' but no GPS information. When I click for download the progress bar comes up in lower right but does not make any progress.

Any hints would be great. I actually ordered the BT-1000P knowing it would work but the jerks at the ebay boutique sent the wrong one (the nano). As they are in England I am in France I want to give it a go and try to get it to work before dealing with sending it back.
